Transitioning Again
Loy has been substituting for a school social worker in Glen Ellyn, IL for three weeks with the kindergarten, first and second grade English as a new language and bilingual classes. It has been a great experience reminding me of a pint sized United Nations. The students speak 30 different languages and and most are new arrivals in the United States. It has been a great learning experience for me. The kids are great! We will be leaving for Deltaville, VA around Nov. 10 to get Sandpiper ready for another year on the east coast. We are busy packing up our town house to leave the land home and packing up sailing gear to go to the boat. This will be year six of our two year year plan. And as all sailors know, Plans are cast in jello!
