Visit to Iowa

We went to Iowa for a two day reunion with Jerry and Linda Lehtola who were in childbirth class with us in Iowa 34 years ago. We met in Dubuque and toured the Mississipi River Museum and Acquarium. This is a fascinating place run by the Simsonian Institute with displays of steamboats and fish, alligators and turtles. Jerry and Linda have been great friends all the years we have watched our children become adults.

Loy is going to the Thai Buddist Temple in Chicago on this Sunday with the Fox Valley Presbyterian senior high group. He will also be doing three weeks of school social work with ESL classes in Glen Ellyn and Linda will accompany him to his 50th high school reunion in Dallas later this month. We're looking forward to visiting with Dr. David McGuire and his family and First United Methodist Church members in Denton, Texas while in the area and staying with Dr. Ellwood Jones and his wife, Ann, in Dallas. It's been a long time since Woodrow Wilson High School and we'll look forward to catching up.

We'll be returning to Deltaville, Virginia and our sailboat, Sandpiper, in November for another year under sail.
