Loy and Linda arrived Norfolk
Today we arrived in Norfolk after taking the more easterly route through Coinjock, NC on the intercoastal instead of the Great Dismal Swamp Canal which we have taken twice before. The shallow water and the wind on open water convinced us that for future trips we will return to the Great Dismal Swamp Canal which despite its name is a beautiful stretch of pristine water lined with woods. We are only 43 miles from our destination of Deltaville. In the last two weeks we have come over a thousand miles from Florida and we are bone tired. At Dozier's Regatta Point Marina in Deltaville we will spend at least a week preparing the boat to be hauled and stored for hurricane season. Then we will go to Schroeder's Yard where Sandpiper will be out of the water until October. She has served us well for another year.
