Carl is half way to Bermuda

Linda and I sailing today from Fernandina, Fl to Jekyl Island, GA. Carl has been underway on the 42' sailing catamaran "Going" for five days from Miami toward Bermuda, the Azores, Portugal and Spain. Linda said last night that she had a feeling we would hear from Carl soon.

This morning at 11:43 am EST as we were sailing Linda received a call on her cell phone from Carl who was calling on the sailboat "Going's" satellite phone. He said today on the boat was wives and mother's day with calls to both. They are at N 30 48 W 73 20. If you draw a straight line from Miami to Bermuda they are half way along that line. He said all is going well with the boat and the crew. For most of the trip they have had winds gusting to 25 knots and seas 8' to 10'. Today winds are calm and seas are 1'-2' on the beam and on the bow. Then we lost the satellite connection.

We appreciate thoughts and prayers for the safety of Carl and the crew of "Going". We'll let you know when we hear more from them.
