Sea Turtle Hospital at Marathon, FL

Sea Turtles are ancient and primitive animals that are critically endangered. This is one of many not for profit facilities along the coasts that rescue, treat and when possible return these fascinating creatures to the sea. We don't know for sure how long they live, but some may live well over 100 years. It is beautiful to watch them swim. They can hold their breath for up to four hours. The shoreside developments are eradicating their nesting grounds and increasing the extinction threat.
