What Do You Do All Day On A Boat?

Are you old enough to remember the "Metracal for Lunch Bunch" TV commercials? Probably not - we are old as the hills. In those commercials there were beautiful sailboats and shaply bikini clad women lounging about on the deck in splendid lethargy. We couldn't help but note the contrast in the marina when we took stock at the end of the day of our activites. We had worked with a marine diesel mechanic to replace the exhaust riser (pictured above), adjust the valves on our engine, test the injectors and reinstall them with new tips. We repaired an oil change pump, hand sewed a zipper on the canvas enclosure, repaired the wiring on the navigation lights, replaced a deck switch for the windlass, and removed rust and polished the stainless steel fittings on the deck. It turns out that what to do with our spare time is not a problem.
