Fort Frederica - Early outpost of British in America

We anchored in the Frederica river in Georgia near Bob and Linda Knighton on Syzygy and toured the national historical monument of Fort Frederica. British general Oglethorpe founded this outpost to stop the Spanish who claimed Florida and the entire East Coast from advancing North. John and Charles Wesley, founders of the Methodist Church, worked in Frerderica. Oglethorpe was successful in stopping the Spanish. Oglethorpe founded the territory of Georgia as a new opportunity for sons with no claim on their father's estate in Britian and for those in debtor's prison.

The air is filled with smoke from the wild fires in Georgia due to the extremely dry weather.
