Sailing fromFlorida to Georgia in Atlantic

We sailed from Fernandina Beach, FL We had intended to take the intercoastal waterway but when we arrived at the St. Mary's Sound inlet we decided to turn East and travel "on the outside" in the Atlantic. We had a great run in 3-4 foot waves and swells 12 miles offshore for 21 miles north to the St. Simon Sound inlet. This is one of the sea bouys that ships use to navigate from one inlet to another and to identify the channel to enter a port from the ocean. While entering the inlet we received cell phone calls from Les and Sue Dixon planning to meet us in Charleston, SC May 27 and from Bob and Linda Knighton planning to meet us in the Frederica River anchorage tonight.
