Building a Helm Foot Rest

For three years we have been trying solutions to provide a foot rest for the person at the helm steering station. Several solutions did not work. Finally both Linda and Loy separately toured a tug boat, m/v Tug a Loo, that we first encountered in Marsh Harbor, Bahamas and then again in St. Augustine. Both of us spotted their folding helm foot rest. Loy was able to asssemble the parts and build a mock up in wood and then the final product in stainless steel. The group of sailors at Hidden Harbor Marina including Larry, Marcel and Ernie contributed their ideas and it really works and folds out of the way when not needed.
