Ill Winds

This morning (Thursday) there were 20 or more boats ready to leave for the Bahamas at about midnight tonight. We all compared our weather information and discussed our options. Linda read the Chris Parker Caribbean weather reports she had received by e-mail on the VHF radio. We decided that Sandpiper would not make the trip. The weather is acceptable for a crossing today, but at the anchorage at Great Sale Cay the forecast is for gale force winds from the SW on Friday night followed by strong winds from the NE that would prevent travel into the Abacos into next week. We took today to rest from the intense preparation for a crossing and to begin making a new plan. We may refocus our plans on exploring the Chesapeake this year. We’ll keep you posted.

Linda & Loy, Loy, glad to hear your hand has healed from the surgery. I am happy to hear that the "good guys" got justice in the boating world. Will await to hear about your new travel plan. Getting to look like spring back in Chicagoland, 52 - sunny.
