Waiting for Boat Parts
It seems simple. Just order some boat parts and install them when they come. But we are still waiting in Sarasota for some parts that are being made in Mobile. Meanwhile we are studying charts for the south ports of Florida and the Bahamas. We love Sarasota and can see why people spend the winter here. We haven't been convinced yet that this is the place to be in the summer. Sunday we went to First Presbyterian Church in Sarasota and enjoyed the inclusive language, the variety of styles and languages of worship, and the pastor, Rev. Dr. Susan. After church we ran into Marti and Dick Clapp, former members of Fox Valley Presbyterian Church in Geneva. They now live in Sarasota and are involved in leadership of the church here. What a thrill to meet with them. Sarasota is rich with theater and art. While stranded we taken advantage of opportunities here. Yesterday we went to the one man play, "Male Intelligence - an oxymoron". We also visited Myakka River state park and saw alligators and eagles (see pictures). If you haven't seen our webmaster's map of our trip on the website be sure to do so. Jim Newman has done a marvelous job of high tech guru stuff that we don't understand at all, but the maps are great!
