On Mobile Bay, AL at Dog River Marina

Happy Thanksgiving. Since the marina office is closed today we have taken on the task of feeding the 45 ducks that are favorites of the marina. There are also two marina dogs who go from place to place being pampered by the staff. We will be having Thanksgiving dinner on the dock with two couples from Canada who are here in their boats, a couple from Florida and the security guard. Ann Ringland has joined the crew for the sail to Florida. We now have our mast on Sandpiper again. It took 25 men at the boat yard to carry the mast over near the boat and a sign truck and prayer to hoist it back on the boat. Yesterday a rigger tunned the rigging that supports the mast and today we hope to put our sails on.

Loy's back is doing much better and he is doing daily exercises and resting to try to keep it in good shape.

We hope to start sailing to Florida this weekend. Initially we will be traveling in the Intercoastal Waterway and then our mast will be too tall and our depth too deep so we will sail in the gulf.

Linda figured out how to get us on line at the marina through the Pelagic wireless net so we could get in touch with you.

Ann loves Linda's cooking. We are eating well. Ann walked to a shrimp boat that pulled in near us and yelled at them, "Are you a shrimp boat?" They said yes and showed us they had them sorted into four sizes. She bought two pounds (they added even more). They are the freshest, sweetest shimp ever.

Here's the question of the day - On Mobile Bay from the shrimp boat how much per pound does it cost for 21 count per pound? Give us your best guess and we'll post the answer later.

Congratulations to all of you who knew that Elvis Presley's favorite sandwich was fried peanut butter with banana. The first correct answer to the question came from Jim Newman within one minute of Linda posting the question.
