Tonight we are in Norfolk, Virginia
We got off from Schroeder's boatyard in Deltaville, VA at 8 am this morning and 8 hours later we were in Norfolk. This time we encountered no submarines or homeland security. We did have an ocean going freighter decide to cross in front of us and I did I quick 180 turn. Later as we passed behind its stern we found there were two huge tug boats on the other side of the freighter. We wouldn't have even been a small snack for it if we had decided to put up a fight. The day went very, very well with all the instruments and engine working perfectly. It started out 36 degrees outside, but inside the enclosure the temperature was quite comfortable - by midday getting up to the 70's in the cockpit. Tomorrow we will go to the Dismal Swamp Canal and there will be some high wind in the afternoon, but we will be protected by the trees lining the canal. We will spend the night at a dock without power or water and we will use the Honda Generator to make some heat and charge up our batteries. It will no doubt be an early night under the blankets to stay warm. Tonight we will be have power and sleep warm with hot stew and muffins in our tummies. Life is good.
What are your Thanksgiving plans? We don't know where we'll be yet. Ann Ringland will probably drive to join us and the "turkey" will be a pork tenderloin.

Hi L & L. Glad you are on your way. I put your URL in last Sunday's bulletin and pictures of Loy lifting/moving the boat around on the literature table. Saw some looking at it. Leg better, but still has numbness. Driving more. We plan to be here. Iowa family and Elaine work on Friday. Elaine & I will eat "turkey" here and go to St. John's UCC on Thurs afternoon. Enjoy your tenderloin. Bob & Elaine.
