Winter in the Mid West

Loy and Linda are wintering in Illinois for the first time in four years. We are having to readjust to the cold, the snow and down coats. We are trying to stay in touch with our sailing friends who are now underway to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. We hope to return to the Chesapeake Bay in April and renew our connections with you sailors in the near future.

Linda is driving, walking and exercising again. It is wonderful what a new knee can do! We are excited to be able to have an exchange student live with us this winter through Rotary International's Youth Exchange Program. Veronica Castro Lopez is 17 years old; from Puebla, Mexico; a student at Geneva High School; a talented soccer player; and cook. Loy is working part time at an elementary school and in the counseling office. Linda will be training for the IL. Department of Children and Family Services.
