We were introduced to "Clyde and he bites" the marina maccaw at Dudley Marina, Swansboro, NC. Here we also met Brett Elliott, an Australian transplant, who manages the local Enterprise Rent A Car agency and is an outstanding representative of his company.

We left Dudley and headed north up the Neuse River anchoring in the South River near Oriental, NC. Threatened thunderstorms with winds of 50 knots did not hit us so we had a quiet night at anchor.
