Tropical Depression Barry Passed Over Charleston

Saturday night Barry blew through Charleston with sustained winds in the 50's and gust to 61. The waves in our marina were 3 to 4 feet. Sandpiper and her people bucked and rolled but came through without damage. We were up much of the night putting extra lines on nearby boats and repositioning fenders when one would break. Two boats in our marina sustained significant damage, so we are proud of Sandpiper for coming through in good shape. We experienced first hand the power of the wind and water even in a sub tropical storm. We also realized how vulnerable a boat can be in a marina during a storm.

From Charleston we traveled to Minum Creek anchorage in SC and then to Osprey Marina near Socaste, SC with a stop at Bucksport marina for their famous blueberry cobbler.

Pace and Marci were in Charleston at the same time fighting the winds and rain trying to sight see and take pictures. We should have read your web site earlier to see where you would be. Nancy
