Crew Change on Sandpiper
Br uce Kuehl and Mary Jane Cross spent the week with us in Marsh Harbour, Great Guana Cay, Elbow Cay at Hopetown, and Treasure Cay. Their favorite place was Hopetown on Elbow Cay. This is a town settled by the loyalists escaping persecution after the American Revolution. There is a beautiful old lighthouse there, the Elbow Cay Light, which we climbed and where we admired the old clock weight mechanism that still turns the lens. This is one of the few remaining manned light houses in the world. We snorkeled the reef on the ocean side of Great Guana Cay. Our son Carl will arrive on Monday 3/13 and spend a few days with us and we have just received confirmation that John and Judy Strauss-Clement will arrive on 3/18 to crew with us. For now we are continuing to sail in the Abacos area of the Bahamas.
