Anchoring in a marsh river

Today dolphins are making their appearance throughout the day. The sun is out and the temperature is in the mid 40s. There is very little traffic on the ICW at this time of year. We are traveling in remote areas imagining how beautiful it must be to live in this area and enjoy hunting and fishing in pristine swamps year round. Tonight we anchored in the isolated South Edisto River. The night temperature was in the 30s. It was a clear night lighted by the moon and decorated by the stars. We held the cold at bay by baking pork tenderloin in the oven. (Thanks to Linda we always eat well on Sandpiper.) We also used the Honda generator to run a space heater and the TV before bedtime. When anchoring out we are always wakened by changes in sounds or the weather. We get up several times during the night to check that our anchor is holding. Our anchor did hold and we stayed warm under three fleece blankets and a quilt.
