Barefoot Landing and Bucksport

We continued South on the ICW through South Carolina’s resort area, It was a sunny winter day and we came to Bucksport Plantation Marina and Restaurant. We had read in a guide book that they had good food. It is a small restaurant with a few docks in a rural area where rice was raised with slave labor. Following emancipation pine lumber was cut here and sent to the NE for ship building. We had possibly the best barbecue we have ever tasted flavored South Carolina style with vinegar.
