Arrival at Ft. Myers Beach
We spent the night Palm Sunday at a city dock in Venice, FL. Monday night we anchored at Useppa Island. Across the channel is Cabbage Key where the restaurant serves the cheeseburger immortalized by Jimmy Buffet as "A Cheeseburger in Paradise."
Today we left Useppa Island and came to the Moss Marina at Ft. Meyers Beach. We walked in the surf tonight and enjoyed the feel of warm water and sand between our toes. The temperature is in the 80's and this may be paradise. This is the end of the Gulf Intercostal Water Way. Our travels now will be in the gulf . From here we sail to Naples and then go to anchor in Little Shark River (rummored to have beastly no sees ums). On Easter Sunday we'll arrive at the Sombrero Resort and Marina at Marathon, FL in the Florida Keys, and plan to be there for several days. Susan Tonon is making arrangements to join us for the crossing to the Bahamas.
