Friends in the Abacos

We have had a wonderful week in the Abacos with John and Judy Strausz-Clement sailing through the Abacos. We had good weather until the squalls arrived today when they had to go home. This afternoon we ran into Captain Bill Pinkney, whose home town is Chicago, on the docks. He is a circumnavigator and former captain of the Amistad. He is now leading a tour of black sailors in the Bahamas. Bill has finished his book "As Long As IOt Takes" and he plans to be on a book trip in Chicago in September. He says hello to fellow members of the Belmont Yacht Club in Chicago. He hopes to finalize plans with Bob Bilhorn to speak to the Explorers Society.
