Ideal anchorage
10/20/04
We left Aqua Marina at Pickwick Lake after a stormy three days in the harbor. We left in the company of several trawlers and a small tug . We had a relaxing day-- no locks and straight piloting thru a 24 mile canal! We stopped early in the afternoon as the sun broke thru . We found a secluded bay and anchored in a cove. Two of the trawlers found their own spots .We enjoyed hot showers time to read anad relax. The folks from Longhaul and Bonnie Banks came over in their dingies and invited us to a small beach accross the bay for a campfire . We spent the evening on a small sandy beach, with 60's and 60's music coming from the trawler off shore. We shared Loy's birthday cake and coffee and great conversation until ten pm. (late for us)! Today we did three locks and quit early at a small marina and tomorrow we will be at Jean and Chuck Pounders in Aberdeen MS for a few days of R and R
